UUPN Management Board meeting, 6 July, 2006

Venue: British Council Conference Centre in Kyiv, 4/12 Hryhoria Skovorody Str.
Present:

5. Coordinator of the UUPN Media Section: Olga Ryeka,
6. Coordinator of the UUPN Governance and NGO Section: Andriy Bobro,
7. Coordinator of the UUPN Business and Finances Section: Olena Lazorenko,
8. Coordinator of the UUPN Education and Science Section: Maxim Shkilov,
9. Coordinator of the UUPN Law Section: Taras Dumych,
10. UUPN Networking Coordinator: Nataliya Martynenko,
11. British Council Coordinator: Maria Zakharova, Scholarship and Alumni Manager, the British Council Ukraine,
12. Former British Council Coordinator: Victor Kyrylenko, Engineering, Science Manager, the British Council Ukraine.

UUPM MB members have elected Andriy Chuprikov to be the Head of UUPN Management Board.

MB members discussed UUPN plan of activities for 2006/2007 financial year, in particular, in September- December 2006.

Propositions to organize the following monthly events:

1. UUPN monthly meeting with the new Ambassador of the British Embassy of Ukraine (action: Maria Zakharova. The date of the meeting to be confirmed).
2. UUPN Monthly meeting with Commercial Officer of the British Embassy of Ukraine Mrs. Sara Pickering (action: Olena Lazorenko, Preliminary dates 18 or19 October were confirmed. Number of participants - 50. Subjects: British investors in Ukraine, UK-Ukraine collaboration, attractive economy sectors for investment, success stories, services for Ukrainian and UK investors) PR coordinator will prepare follow-up in mass-media.
3. To continue twice a month mini HRM trainings (trainer- Maxim Shkilov, other active UUPN members).
4. Scientific cafes, (Science and environment, sustainable development, communication); Scientific theatre is planned for the middle of October (to contact
Victor Kyrylenko).

Another ideas and propositions:

1. To organize Communication Bridge between Ukrainian and UK graduates (idea of Olena Lazorenko).
2. To organize UUPN monthly meeting with Visa Officer of the British Embassy of Ukraine (idea of Lucy Smirnova).
3. To publish UUPN directory (a good example could be similar directory of Salzburg seminars participants, idea of Olena Lazorenko).
4. To launch information about UUPN (new members, professional interviews, events) in Kyiv Post and Kyiv Weekly newspapers.
5. To prepare UUPN membership cards for those members who wish to have them. (action: Andriy Chernyavsky).
6. To discuss with European Business Association – to attend EBA breakfast presentations (idea of Helen Khilkova).
7. To organize Ukrainian seminar for lawyers “Peculiarities of juridical practices in different regions of Ukraine” (idea of Taras Dumych).
8. To work more closely with regional BC offices and their representatives (Dmytro Yagunov plans to involve new UUPN members working with regional BC office).
9. To think about common UUPN Project, to work out in detail the UUPN strategy (proposition of Olga Ryeka).
10. Topical issue: “Regulation of relations between power and civil society” (the idea of Andriy Bobro who works for the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is to invite UUPN members to participate in public collegiums and as such to promote UUPN as active civil society organisation).
